PADS Shelters
October 1–April 30
6:45 PM–7 AM
PADS Shelters provide safe, overnight shelter, a warm meal and breakfast, and a to-go lunch every day.
To find out if you qualify to access to PADS Shelters, call or visit us to get started with a case manager. You'll be guided through the process and find out if there are additional programs you qualify for. Qualified clients are issued a PADS identification card to gain access to an available site.
JOURNEYS awards PADS Shelter slots through a lottery process because the demand and need for shelter is greater than the supply of beds and space available.
PADS Shelters have served the Chicago area for over 50 years, providing a warm, safe place to stay for people who are experiencing homelessness. The program began in partnership with many local faith communities to address the rising homeless crisis. Local churches and other faith partners continue to work alongside JOURNEYS to help people in our community who are in need.
