General Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Development, the Marketing Associate is responsible for the overall success of the administrative duties for the agency’s marketing efforts. This includes the marketing of agency programs and services, events, and other agency outreach efforts.
Overview:
This position is responsible for marketing JOURNEYS through the agency website, social media pages, Annual Reports, Newsletters and Appeals. This position serves as a liaison position between the organization, board, volunteers and community in marketing agency events and services. Through the use of detail-oriented organization, graphic design capabilities, proficiency of technology, and strong written and oral communication skills, this position will enable JOURNEYS | The Road Home to reach its fund-raising goals and continue to strengthen and build new strong community relationships.
Essential Requirements:
1. Bachelors Degree in Marketing, English, Communications, Non-profit Management or related field
2. Knowledge of marketing channels in print and online, including social media platforms
3. Familiar with the communities within JOURNEYS service area
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Graphic design experience including high proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud programs
6. Subscription to and integration of the agency’s core values of Respect, Teamwork, Mission-Driven, and Commitment
7. Technological competency

Essential Functions:
1. MARKETING | 75%
a. Assist the Director of Development with creating public relations and marketing materials such as brochures, press releases, regional overviews, e-blasts, and annual reports
b. In conjunction with Event Coordinator, create all collateral material and marketing pieces for agency events
c. Oversee content and scheduling of newsletters and appeals
d. Create and oversee marketing plan and budget for ad placements and acquisition efforts
e. Create content for and maintain the agency’s Website and Social Media pages
f. Maintain Agency image standards for all printed and electronic materials
g. Speaking engagements on behalf of agency
2. ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS | 25%
a. Assist in the process of receiving and batching in-kind and monetary donations
b. Work within the donor database to facilitate mail merges for newsletters, appeals and other agency mailings
c. Attend the JOURNEYS Young Professionals Board Meetings as staff liaison as needed
d. Administrative Assistance to the Director of Development

This position will require exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
