Position Overview:
This position is responsible for marketing JOURNEYS through the agency website, social media pages, annual reports, newsletters and mail appeals. This position serves as a liaison position between the organization, board, volunteers and community in marketing agency events and services.

This work is primarily sedentary and requires travel throughout the service area as well as within the greater Chicago area. The work schedule varies depending on the needs and services of the organization. Evening and weekend work is necessary in order to attend meetings or to participate in events. This position will require exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or equivalent work experience.
- Graphic design experience for print and digital assets. Must have proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
- Competency with social media marketing including content calendars, audience strategy, and specific social channel strategies.
- Knowledge of utilizing appropriate marketing channels, CMS and CRM systems, and website development to reach specific audiences and convert them into clients, volunteers, donors, or supporters.
- Familiar with the communities within JOURNEYS service area
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adherence to project deadlines, and ability to adjust workload and tasks based of agency needs.

Essential Functions:
1. MARKETING | 75%
- Assist the Communications Manager and Development Department with creating public relations and marketing materials such as brochures, press releases, regional overviews, e-blasts, and annual reports
- In conjunction with Event Coordinator, design and create all collateral material and marketing pieces for agency events, including videos and presentations
- Oversee content and scheduling of newsletters and appeals
- Create content for and maintain the agency’s Website and Social Media pages, including videos and graphics
- Create collateral materials for internal and external purposes
- Maintain Agency image standards for all printed and electronic materials
- Speaking engagements on behalf of agency
- Community outreach and network at local nonprofit events, clubs, and fundraisers.
2. ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS | 25%
- Ensure adequate levels of marketing and print materials
- Main point of contact for vendors of print materials and marketing
- Organize marketing materials and assets in JOURNEYS database so they can be shared among team members
- Work with Development Assistant in the donor database to facilitate mail merges for newsletters, appeals and other agency mailings
- Attend the JOURNEYS Young Professionals Board Meetings as staff communications liaison as needed
- Coverage for Development Department tasks as needed
