We are excited to announce that JOURNEYS is packing up its old offices and moving into our new building! In order to facilitate the move of all of our furniture, equipment, files, supplies, and people, we will be temporarily shutting down our facility at 1140 East Northwest Highway from Monday 12/5/2022 to Friday 12/9/2022.
We will reopen for regular hours in our new building on Monday, 12/12/2022. During our facility shutdown, our services and capabilities will be temporarily limited. Will I still be able to access HOPE Center services and resources? Yes, but on a limited basis. JOURNEYS will be offering limited services at the Palatine Public Library during the shutdown. Here are the basics:
Services will be offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:00AM-4:00PM, in the library study rooms. Wednesday hours are from 10:00AM-4:00PM.
New client intakes will be processed time permitting.
Food from the pantry and clothing will be available on a limited basis.
Will the PADS Shelter Sites be affected by the shutdown? No. PADS Shelter Sites will continue operate normally.
Will the Hotel Program be affected by the shutdown? No. The Hotel Program will continue to operate normally.
Will I be able to receive transport to the PADS Shelter Sites or hotels? Unfortunately, no. There will be no transportation services during our facility shutdown. If you are a client who needs assistance, please contact your case manager.
Can I drop off donations or drive items during the shutdown? Unfortunately, no. We ask that you please hold all donations and drive items until Wednesday, 12/14, when we reopen in our new facility. At that time, donations should be brought to the front door of the new facility (directly behind the old facility).
Will meal kit deliveries continue during the shutdown? Yes. If you have a scheduled meal kit delivery, you can still drop them off at the same place on Monday, 12/5, between 8:00AM-8:30AM. If you have questions or concerns, please email Anna Malhotra at a.malhotra@journeystheroadhome.org.
Should volunteers arrive for their regular shifts during the shutdown? No. Volunteering will resume on Monday, 12/12.
Where should I park when the new building reopens? For now, parking is still available at the Post Office next door.
