Whether you run, walk, push a stroller, or cheer from the sidelines, your participation helps ensure families and individuals in our community have a safe place to sleep, food to eat, and support to rebuild their lives.
This is more than a race, JOURNEYS 5K is a family fun event that benefits people facing homelessness and housing insecurity in the north and northwest suburbs of Cook County. Come out for some fun, come out for some exercise, come out to compete, and most importantly, come out to make a difference in your community!

Right here in our community, families are facing impossible choices—between rent and groceries, safety and stability, survival and hope. JOURNEYS meets people at their most vulnerable moments with shelter, housing assistance, food, counseling, and compassionate care.
Funds raised through the JOURNEYS 5K directly support:

- Emergency and overnight shelter
- Housing stability and prevention programs
- Food pantry services
- Counseling and case management
- Long-term pathways out of homelessness
Everyone: Runners. Walkers. Families. Kids. Teams. First-timers. Seasoned 5K veterans. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply showing up for your neighbors, you belong here.
- Run or walk at your own pace
- Participate solo or form a team with your coworkers, church group, softball team, neighbors, etc.

- For competitive runners, your official times will be tracked and recorded for this 5K event
